Brando's Vic Park

Another Vic Park restaurant review! I came across Brando's randomly searching through the Vic Park section of the entertainment book. When we arrived it was a little disorganised, we had no idea where or whether we could sit down or if we ordered first. It was packed with groups of teenagers and families, which made it quite a loud restaurant.

We ordered chilli and garlic calamari and chorizo for an entree. As I mentioned with Terrazza, I am extremely picky with my seafood and I expect it to be relatively fresh. This was disappointingly not, luckily the chilli masking some of the terrible fishy aftertaste. The chorizo was quite good, but certainly not enough on the plate.

The main was much better but still nothing special. We shared a pesto chicken, rocket and spanish onion, gluten free pizza. The flavours worked well together (especially the rocket) and the chicken was quite moist, which I still can't figure out whether it was a good or bad feature.

I am 100% fine with restaurants having a surcharge for gluten free pizza bases etc... but they also charged an $3 for the entree, just because it needed to be gluten free. Considering it was only a $14 dish, I think that was a bit pathetic.

Rating: Rating 3 out of 5 (2.5 without entertainment card).
