White salt

We visited White salt in a group for a birthday and no-one came away terribly impressed.

I ordered the chicken breast, and all our meals came out after a pretty significant delay. The chicken came out quite cool, with the goat's cheese inside cold. Instantly, one of my pet hates, cold food and even worse with chicken - the possibility of it being undercooked. Thankfully the chicken's colour was white through, but a dish with cheese should not be served cool. I assume something went wrong in the kitchen with someone's dish (possibly the seafood linguini) and the other dishes were put to the side as it was redone.

I'm sure the polenta would have been fun, as well as the sweet roasted capsicum. All the pleasure of these foods had been leeched out by it being cold. We had been waiting a while (about an hour) and were too hungry to send it back.

Restaurants, if something like a timing problem happens, let us know. We won't be angry. Even if you bring out the hot dishes straight away and someone has to wait, it's better than sitting around, wondering what is happening while our dishes get cold.

Two stars.
